ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS
As part of our mission, Flosam Institute trains health professionals who will provide quality total family- centered and community-based health care,
promote and maintain the health status of Ghanaians through Evidence- Based Practice,
provide a range of programmes responsive to local and national health care needs and lastly
establish partnerships for education, research and practice. In view of the above, Flosam Institute have two major departments whose expertise focuses on training health professionals on care delivered in acute and critical care settings. They are Department of Nursing and Department of Allied Health Sciences.
DEPARTMENT OF NURSING
The Department of Nursing runs academic programmes intended to produce competent professional nurses who will give quality health care and services in the community, clinics and hospitals; nurses that will give emotional support to clients and their relatives by collaborating with other health workers. The main aim of the Department, is to produce professional nurses who will provide nursing care and services under the supervision of senior professional nurses, both in the clinical and community settings, with emphasis on nursing operational research, which will help to provide information for quality of nursing education and practice (care).
DEPARTMENT OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES
The Department of Allied Health Sciences provide unique health education of the highest standards and value to students by blending internationally validated curricula, produce high caliber health professionals/scientists, train health practitioners and researchers who are motivated to maintain excellence in healthcare delivery.
The Department offers rigorous curricula grounded in the sciences which is connected to the healthcare professions, placing emphasis on contemporary issues. Our curricula are built on our commitments to interdisciplinary inquiry, international understanding, interactive teaching, research and creative endeavours, practical application, and social responsibility towards all communities.
