OVERVIEW OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
Flosam Institute of Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Sciences runs three academic programmes.

- Diploma in Registered Community Nursing (Top Up)

ADMISSION/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Applicants
WASSCE Applicants must have aggregate 36 or better in six subjects (3 core and 3 electives). The core subjects and minimum grades are: Grade C6 or better in Mathematics, English Language and Integrated Science. The elective subjects should be selected from any of the following subject areas: Science, General Arts, General Agriculture with Chemistry, Home Economics with Food and Nutrition.
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Applicants
SSSCE Applicants must have obtained aggregate score of 24 or better in six subjects (3 core and 3 electives). The core subjects and minimum grades must be grade D or better in Mathematics, English Language and Integrated Science. The elective subjects should be selected from any of the following subject areas: Science, General Arts, General Agriculture with Chemistry, Home Economics with Biology.
Community Health Nursing (CHN) Applicants
Holders of CHN certificate should be obtained from a recognised Health Training Institution, with a pass, in addition to the basic qualification at WASSCE / O’ Level/SSSCE. Such candidates must be practitioners of CHN.
Mature Applicants/Access Course
Applicants with certificate in CHN with deficiencies in WASSCE or SSSCE would be treated as mature applicants. Such candidates must pass the access course programme before being admitted into the Top Up programme.
International Students
International students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission shall determine equivalence. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries. In addition, foreign applicants must satisfy the professional entry requirements determined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
