BSc Nutrition Admission Requirements

  1. SSSCE and WASSCE applicants will be admitted at level 100:

    • Must be 16-35 years old
    • Must have credits or better (A1-C6) in 3 core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science) and 3 elective subjects (Science, Agriculture, and Home Economics)
    • SSSCE holders must have credits or better (grades A-D)
    • WASSCE holders must have credits or better (grades A1-C6)
    • Three Elective subjects from ANY of the following:
      • SCIENCE - Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Elective Mathematics, French
      • GENERAL AGRICULTURE - Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture Science/General Agriculture, Mathematics (Electives), animal husbandry, horticulture, French
      • HOME ECONOMICS - Food & Nutrition, Management in Living, General Knowledge In Art, French, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics (Electives)

Diploma in Public Health Nursing Admission Requirements

  • Candidates must have credits or better in 3 core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science) and 3 elective subjects (Science, General Arts, Agriculture, and Home Economics)
  • SSSCE holders must have credits or better (grades A-D), Aggregate Score of twenty-four (24)
  • WASSCE holders must have credits or better (grades A1-C6), Aggregate Score of thirty-six (36)
  • Applicants must be 16-35 years old
  • Applicants who are above 35 years must be serving officers for Top up programmes with a valid license
  • A COMBINATION of SSSCE and WASSCE results are not acceptable
  • ELECTIVE SUBJECTS:
    • Science Option: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (Elective), French, ICT, Geography
    • General Arts Option: West African Traditional Religion/Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Religious Studies, Literature – In –English, French/Arabic, Geography, Government, History, Economics, Mathematics (Elective), ICT, One Ghanaian Language, General Knowledge –In - Art
    • Agriculture Option: Agriculture Science/General Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (Electives), ICT, French
    • Home Economics Option: Management in living, General Knowledge –In – Art, Food and Nutrition, French, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics (Electives)

Admission Requirements for Foreign Students:

Must be equivalent to the above and accepted by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and University of Cape Coast, GTEC, and WAEC

Top up for Diploma in Public Health Nursing (DPHN) - Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) to DPHN Applicants:

Applicants must be holders of a Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) awarded by an Accredited health training institution. The applicants MUST have, in addition, pass all ACCESS courses.
